Email, automation, courses and sales funnels in one package

The review is based on the provider’s own sources: prices from the pricing page, data location from the privacy policy and billing rules from the help pages — each one dated.

Overview

Systeme.io

Best when: A beginner who also wants funnels and courses without separate tools

Not for you if: You need fine-grained segmentation or heavy reporting

Free plan: 2,000 contacts, unlimited sending · from $17/mo (500 contacts)

Start free — 2,000 contacts (ad)

Good

  • The free plan goes a long way: 2,000 contacts and unlimited sending
  • List, automation, landing pages and courses in one price
  • The price does not climb with contact count as steeply as at the competitors
  • Irish company (ITACWT Limited); data in AWS’s Irish data centre and not transferred outside the EU

Bad

  • The free plan includes one automation rule, one course and three funnels
  • The rule for how contacts are counted is not published in the help centre
  • Billed in dollars — the exchange rate comes on top

Prices exclude VAT, billed monthly unless stated otherwise.(ad) = ad link

  • The price is the monthly price of the cheapest paid plan at that list size. The Free plan column shows when you do not have to pay.
  • EmailOctopus and ActiveCampaign: the price list only shows the monthly price on annual billing. Monthly billing costs more.
  • GetResponse and ActiveCampaign: the smallest list sold is 1,000 contacts, so the 500-contact column shows that price.

What the price covers: Prices in dollars — systeme.io does not bill in euros. The table figure is the price of the cheapest paid plan (Startup); a 500-contact list usually does not need it, because the free plan holds 2,000 contacts. Two months free on annual billing. Startup 5,000 contacts, Webinar 10,000.

How contacts are counted

The plan limits are contact counts (free plan 2,000, Startup 5,000, Webinar 10,000). All nine contact-management articles in the help centre were read on 5 September 2026: none of them says which contact statuses count toward the plan limit. The guides advise cleaning the list, but the counting rule is not published. So we claim nothing either way until it can be read or has been asked from support.

Deliverability

Deliverability is the share of sent messages that reaches the inbox instead of the spam folder. The figures come from Tooltester’s test series, which ended in January 2024 — they describe 2017–2024, not the present. The average and the range are calculated across all rounds.

Deliverability

Systeme.io: no independent measurement. Not included in Tooltester’s deliverability test, so no independent measurement exists. That does not mean poor deliverability — it means nobody knows.

Tooltester ended the series with the January 2024 round and explained why in August 2026: seed lists proved unreliable and providers started optimising for them. The figures are therefore history, not a measurement of current deliverability.

Source: Tooltester deliverability test, 12 rounds 8/2017–1/2024. About 80 seed addresses, 28 providers, shared IP addresses. Average across all platforms in the latest round 83.1%. Average and range calculated from the published rounds.

Deliverability features from the help docs

Eight points read from each provider’s own help pages on 13 September 2026. This replaces percentages as a buying basis: a feature can be checked and dated, a seed-list result no longer can. Every cell links to the article it was read from.

Who Systeme.io suits

What the price includes

Systeme.io is not an email tool with extras bolted on, but a package in which email is one part. The same price includes sales funnels, landing pages, online courses, a blog and affiliate programme management. The plans differ by quantities, not features:

PlanPriceContactsFunnelsAutomation rulesCourses
Free$02,000311
Startup$17/mo5,00010105
Webinar$47/mo10,00050100unlimited
Unlimited$97/mounlimitedunlimitedunlimitedunlimited

From the price list on 3 September 2026. Sending is unlimited on every plan, the free one included. Two months free on annual billing.

What is notable is what the table does not contain: sending is not capped on any plan. That is an exception in the whole comparison — at every other tool either the contact count or the sending volume is the meter by which the bill grows.

The free plan in practice

2,000 contacts and unlimited sending is the widest free plan in the comparison measured by sending volume. The limits come up elsewhere: one automation rule, one online course, one tag and three funnels. In practice the free plan lasts until you need a second automation — and that moment usually arrives when the first automation has proved it works.

Billing is in dollars

Systeme.io offers no euro price list, so the card is charged in dollars and your bank adds its own exchange rate. The practical difference from a euro price is a few per cent either way, but worth knowing if you compare monthly costs in a budget to the cent.

Where the data is stored

This is the point where many comparisons get it wrong. Systeme.io is a service of French origin, but the operating company is ITACWT Limited, Ireland, and according to the privacy policy the data is stored in Amazon Web Services’ Irish data centre and not transferred outside the EU. Read from the policy on 3 September 2026.

For an EU user this means the tool is a simple case for privacy documentation: the processor is in the EU and no transfer basis needs to be documented separately.

Integrations: the fewest in the whole comparison

Systeme.io publishes no integration directory at all — the address systeme.io/integrations returns a 404. Payments run through Stripe and PayPal with no transaction fee of the service’s own, and that is in practice all the ready-made connectors there are.

This is the logical consequence of the all-in-one model, not neglect: when the course platform, landing pages and email are in the same tool, they do not need connecting to each other. The problem arises when one part has to be replaced with a specialised tool — an online shop, bookkeeping or a CRM. The widest libraries in the comparison are ActiveCampaign’s (over 1,000 apps) and Mailchimp’s (300+).

How Systeme.io compares with the alternatives

Three comparisons are enough to place it on the map.

  • Against a free plan: 2,000 contacts and unlimited sending is the widest free plan measured by sending volume. EmailOctopus beats it on contact count (2,500), but adds its own branding to the emails and caps sending at 10,000 a month. MailerLite’s 250 subscribers is an eighth; comparison: Systeme.io vs MailerLite.
  • Against price: at a 10,000-contact list Systeme.io costs $47 a month. Brevo handles the same list for €28 if the newsletter goes out twice a month — but Brevo has no funnels or courses at all. The full comparison: Systeme.io vs Brevo.
  • Against the whole package: if you replaced Systeme.io with separate tools, you would need an email tool, a landing page service and a course platform. A course platform alone typically costs more than the whole of Systeme.io.

What we do not know yet

The figures above were read from the service’s own price list and privacy policy, and they are dated. On usability and support response time we say nothing: they cannot be read from the documentation, and a guess would harm the reader more than a missing fact. The deliverability figures above were measured by a third party, not by us. The full method →

Frequently asked questions

Is Systeme.io really free?
Yes, up to 2,000 contacts. The free plan puts no limit on sending at all, and it includes three sales funnels, one online course and a blog. The limits are elsewhere: one automation rule, one tag and one workflow. No credit card is asked for.
How much does Systeme.io cost?
Startup $17/month (5,000 contacts), Webinar $47/month (10,000) and Unlimited $97/month (unlimited). Annual billing gives two months free. The price list is in dollars, so the card is charged in dollars and your bank adds its own exchange rate. Prices read from the price list on 3 September 2026.
Where is Systeme.io’s data stored?
In Ireland. The service is operated by ITACWT Limited, and according to its privacy policy the data is stored in Amazon Web Services’ Irish data centre and not transferred outside the EU. Many comparisons mark Systeme.io as American; according to the policy that is not the case.
Who is Systeme.io not for?
Two kinds of user. If you need fine-grained segmentation or heavy reporting, the price list promises neither — the plans differ in quantities (contacts, funnels, courses), not in features. And if you are looking for a plain newsletter tool, you pay for the funnel and course parts you never open — although on the free plan they cost nothing.
Can you move away from Systeme.io later?
The contacts can be exported, but the funnels, courses and automations do not transfer anywhere: they are platform-specific structures. The more you build on Systeme.io, the more expensive switching becomes later. That is the shared price of all-in-one tools, not a particular trait of this service.
