One price tier without feature gating, data in the EU

The review is based on the provider’s own sources: prices from the pricing page, data location from the privacy policy and billing rules from the help pages — each one dated.

Prices exclude VAT, billed monthly unless stated otherwise.(ad) = ad link

  • The price is the monthly price of the cheapest paid plan at that list size. The Free plan column shows when you do not have to pay.
  • EmailOctopus and ActiveCampaign: the price list only shows the monthly price on annual billing. Monthly billing costs more.
  • GetResponse and ActiveCampaign: the smallest list sold is 1,000 contacts, so the 500-contact column shows that price.

What the price covers: Comfort is the cheapest paid plan; Power costs €19 / €45 / €109 at the same list sizes. Annual billing −10%.

How contacts are counted

The limit counts subscribers in Active status; unsubscribed and bounced do not count. One trap in the billing period: the period is counted cumulatively, so an address that was active at any point in the period counts toward the limit until the end of the period, even if you delete it immediately. Cleaning the list shows on the bill only in the next period.

Deliverability

Deliverability is the share of sent messages that reaches the inbox instead of the spam folder. The figures come from Tooltester’s test series, which ended in January 2024 — they describe 2017–2024, not the present. The average and the range are calculated across all rounds.

Deliverability

  • Latest round89.8%
  • Average of 12 rounds90.9%
  • Range77.6–98.0%
  • Standard deviation6.4

The highest average in the series and the highest single reading (98.0%), but the variation is large.

Tooltester ended the series with the January 2024 round and explained why in August 2026: seed lists proved unreliable and providers started optimising for them. The figures are therefore history, not a measurement of current deliverability.

Source: Tooltester deliverability test, 12 rounds 8/2017–1/2024. About 80 seed addresses, 28 providers, shared IP addresses. Average across all platforms in the latest round 83.1%. Average and range calculated from the published rounds.

Deliverability features from the help docs

Eight points read from each provider’s own help pages on 13 September 2026. This replaces percentages as a buying basis: a feature can be checked and dated, a seed-list result no longer can. Every cell links to the article it was read from.

Who MailerLite suits

Best when: A newsletter and straightforward automation for a small business

Not for you if: Multi-step automations, lead scoring and a sales pipeline

Two plans, and the difference is sending volume

MailerLite sells two paid plans, Comfort and Power. Both share the same feature base; the difference is in the limits and in how much you may send.

SubscribersComfortPower
500€11/mo€19/mo
1,000€17/mo€35/mo
2,500€29/mo€45/mo
5,000€44/mo€59/mo
10,000€79/mo€109/mo

From the price list on 3 September 2026, monthly billing. Annual billing −10%.

On Comfort sending is capped (5,000 emails a month at the 500-subscriber tier, 100,000 at the 10,000-subscriber tier); on Power it is unlimited. Comfort includes 50 automations, ten landing pages and three user accounts; on Power automations and users are unlimited and support is 24/7 chat instead of email.

In practice Comfort is enough for almost everyone who sends a newsletter. Power pays only when the sending frequency is so high that the quota comes up — or when the team has more than three people.

The free plan shrank — and that changes the recommendation

MailerLite’s free plan was for a long time one of the most generous in the industry. Now it holds 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, and MailerLite’s logo leaves the emails only on a paid plan. It includes three automations, one website, one landing page and three forms.

Older comparisons still talk about 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails. If your choice rests on that figure, check it before you build the list — the limit is now half of that and the sending quota a fifth.

The clarity of the pricing is a real advantage

At the other services in the comparison the price depends either on sending volume (Brevo), on a billing period that is not disclosed (ActiveCampaign) or on a first-year offer (Mailchimp). At MailerLite the figure in the table is what you pay: contact count decides, monthly billing is shown on the price list, and there are no overage fees — the limit is handled as a tier change whose price you see in advance.

This is not a marketing advantage but a budgeting one. It is also why MailerLite is the most common destination when people switch away from Mailchimp: the way of working is familiar and there are no surprises on the bill.

Where the data is stored

This is where many comparisons err one way or the other. According to MailerLite’s privacy policy, for EEA, UK and Swiss customers the contracting party is Irish MailerLite Limited, and the data centre is in the EU (ISO 27001 certified). Customers in other regions are served by a separate US company. Read from the policy on 3 September 2026.

For an EU customer the outcome is therefore the same as with an EU provider, even though the group also has a US company. The sub-processors do include services outside the EU (support and AI tools, among others), so your own privacy policy should be written against the service’s current sub-processor list.

Integrations

MailerLite says it connects to over 130 services. On the e-commerce side it names Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, BigCommerce and PrestaShop; among publishing platforms WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Elementor; and among form tools Typeform, Jotform and Gravity Forms. The automation hubs include Zapier, Make, n8n and Pabbly Connect.

The number is among the smallest in the comparison: ActiveCampaign states over 1,000 apps, Mailchimp 300+ and GetResponse 170+. For a typical small business stack — WordPress or Shopify, a form and a payment gateway — 130 is usually more than enough. The figures are the services’ own; checked 4 September 2026.

How MailerLite compares with the alternatives

  • Against Mailchimp: cheaper at every list size and the free plan’s sending quota five times larger (2,500 emails against 500). The difference per year at 2,500 contacts is €121. The full comparison: MailerLite vs Mailchimp.
  • Against Brevo: more expensive at every list size, €51 a month more at 10,000 contacts. In return the price does not move with sending pace. Comparison: MailerLite vs Brevo.
  • Against a free plan: 250 subscribers is far behind EmailOctopus’s 2,500 and Systeme.io’s 2,000. For a beginner MailerLite is therefore not the cheapest way to get started, but the most cleanly priced way to continue. Comparisons: EmailOctopus vs MailerLite and Systeme.io vs MailerLite.

What we do not know yet

The figures above were read from the service’s own price list and privacy policy, and they are dated. On usability and support response time we say nothing: they cannot be read from the documentation, and a guess would harm the reader more than a missing fact. The deliverability figures above were measured by a third party, not by us. The full method →

Frequently asked questions

Is MailerLite free?
Up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. The free plan shrank clearly from before — older comparisons still talk about 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails. On the free plan the emails show MailerLite’s logo; it goes away only on a paid plan.
How much does MailerLite cost?
The Comfort plan costs €11 per month at 500 subscribers, €29 at 2,500 and €79 at 10,000. Power costs €19, €45 and €109 at the same list sizes. Annual billing is 10% cheaper. Prices read from the price list on 3 September 2026, excluding VAT.
What is the difference between Comfort and Power?
Sending volume and limits. On Comfort sending is capped (5,000 emails a month at the 500-subscriber tier, 100,000 at the 10,000-subscriber tier); on Power it is unlimited. Comfort includes 50 automations and three user accounts; on Power both are unlimited and support is 24/7 chat instead of email.
Where is MailerLite’s data stored?
In the EU. According to the privacy policy, for EEA, UK and Swiss customers the contracting party is Irish MailerLite Limited and the data centre is in the EU (ISO 27001). Customers in other regions are served by a separate US company. Many comparisons mark MailerLite as American, which for an EEA customer is not the case.
Does MailerLite have overage fees?
No. When you hit the limit you move up a tier, and you can see that tier’s price in advance on the price list. That is a clear difference from Mailchimp, where exceeding the contact or sending limit is billed separately and the monthly bill can surprise you after a successful campaign.
Is it worth switching from Mailchimp to MailerLite?
On price, yes: the difference is €121 a year at 2,500 contacts and €199 at 10,000. MailerLite is not the cheapest alternative, though, but the closest — the way of working is familiar. The cheapest alternatives are EmailOctopus for a small list and Brevo for a large one.
